Calgary and the Eastern Rockies
Alberta offers some the best scenery and travel experiences anywhere. For Canadians, seeing the Rocky mountains is a travel pilgrimage on the same order as visiting Niagara Falls or the lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove Nova Scotia. You feel it is something you need to do as part of your citizenship. However, if you don’t drive, or have a mobility challenge, getting there is not necessarily half the fun. It’s for this reason that I have combined Calgary, Alberta’s largest city, and the Eastern Rockies as one potential trip. To do this trip as a solo traveller, I really would not have much choice but to use a travel service of some kind, since at the moment there does not appear to be another way.
