This section covers trips I have completed, and with each entry I will share some experiences, both good and bad, about how it turned out. If you interested in visiting any of these places, I also offer up tips for planning a trip in the hope that you will benefit from my experience. I plan to cover practical issues like budgeting, hotels, transportation, time management and safety among other things, but will also address what to see and do when you’re there.
Additionally, I’ll provide some perspective on accessible travel. As a vision impaired traveller there are numerous challenges that you have to address while on holiday that fully sighted people would never think about. Even simple things like navigating an airport, or finding your hotel can be major challenges if you have a disability. If you’re travelling on a limited budget, you face the additional challenge that you cannot simply spend your way out of every problem that arises. For this reason, you can never put enough time into preparing for your trip. Doing so can remove an enormous amount of the stress associated with travel, and allow you to really enjoy your holiday rather than simply endure it.
Finally, I do not want to present myself as an authority on all things travel. With each adventure you gain experience, but you never reach a point where you feel like you know it all. Every holiday is a learning experience. There is always something more you could have done better, or would do differently if you had it to do all over again. Ultimately, my hope is to prevent you from having to many regrets,
